Have You Polished Your Face Yet?

I enjoy going to events, especially ones for beauty! So my attendance was no question for the launch of Samantha von Sperling’s beauty line: “Polished Face by Samantha von Sperling.” Making my way downtown, walking fast, faces pass and I’m SoHo bound. (caught the pop culture reference?) 

Anyway, I walk into Runway Couture Soho on Broome Street and am greeted by fashion that instantly makes me feel at home.  Why home? Because it’s very rare I walk into a store and say “I’d wear EVERY piece here!” The store is pretty much my personal style as well as my desired personal style.  I could go on for hours about this boutique but, I wont, because you’ll be able to read all about it in another article! But I can’t just stop and not show you a little something! 

Once I quickly checked the threads, I find Samantha doing someones makeup while on-lookers ask questions. The eye shadow brush-swinging little lady gave new meaning to multi-tasking, as she answered every question while (properly) contouring the lady’s face.  Did I mention she never missed a beat?

Since everyone was throwing out questions about makeup application, I decided to be the still, quiet voice asking about the makeup itself. “What is Polished Face?” 

She smiled and began to inform me about the product. “It’s a line of cosmetics catered to these types of women: the girl who knows nothing about make up, the girl who does. The girl who’s on the go and the girl who’s got all the time in the world.”  

How is it perfect for all? There are several reason and here are a few! For starters there are 2 kits:

Polished Face Complexion and Polished Face.

Polished Face Complexion is comprised of the following:

1. Eye Primer 

2. Moisture Spray. This goes on before applying any makeup. Spray on the face and it helps keep it moisturized throughout the day.

3. Foundation Primer. Use this before putting on your foundation.  A simple serum that’s light weight and light scented.

4. Super Sealer.  A few spritzes of this on the face and you’ll lock in the makeup for the day.  It makes me think of sticking your head in the freezer. Flash freeze your makeup!

The bottles and steps pretty much speak for themselves. Easy to apply, easy to follow!

Polished Face is where the fun is! This custom made kit is tailored to your taste. Along with your tailored kit, you get 2 brushes. Oh, I’m giddy now! So here’s what you can get

1. Multi-purpose brown shadow. It’s great for the crease, perfect for eyebrow filler, good as a lid color and perfect for contouring.

2. Pressed powder in your respective shade. This powder is lightweight and easy to apply. 

3. Mascara in black. It’s an oh so adorable tube!

4. Eye and lip pencils.

5. 2 palettes. 1 lipstick palette and 1 cream foundation palette. The cream foundation palette is a great for covering spots and blotches before adding powder!

6. Whatever color eye shadow pot you want!

There are a lot more colors than what you see here for eye shadows. From glitter to shimmer, von Sperling’s got it all!

Right now there aren’t TOO many colors for the darker skin tones, but being this line just came out, give it a moment to expand. You just may see your shade before you can say ‘Polished Face Runway’ three times fast!
